Now

This is a now page, meaning what I’m actually focused on at this point in my life, rather than a résumé of everything I’ve ever done. I update it a few times a year.

Last updated: August 2026.

What I’m working on

Building and maintaining the systems that keep an organisation running: workflows, platforms, the coordination between people who don’t speak the same technical language. Most of it is invisible when it works.

What I’m writing about

A series I started in August 2026, and haven’t finished thinking through: what am I accumulating for myself while I spend my years building something for someone else?

It began with Is Your Job Building You? and continued in Everyone’s Brain + Everyone’s Effort. I don’t have the answer yet. That’s the point of a series rather than a post.

What’s taking up the rest of it

Caregiving has become a real part of the year. My father is recovering from hip surgery, and I’m learning that the mental load of caring for someone is heavier than the practical part. Remembering the medication, noticing the small changes, holding it alongside a full-time job and my own plans.

Still moving: the gym, badminton, and the occasional hike. Still in braces. Still trying to sleep before midnight and not always managing it.

The question I’m sitting with

Eighteen years of working without ever quite deciding what I wanted to work on, because I needed the money and that was reason enough.

What I want now is narrower than a career plan: enough control over my own time that I stop checking the clock.

If any of this overlaps with where you are, the writing starts here.
